Below are examples of various projects completed by Control Logic in recent years. Our Company has completed over a thousand projects in over a thirty year time span.

USPS In-Line Scale National Program
The In-line Scale (ILS) system is a component of the Postal Furnished Equipment (PFE) complement for the Integrated Dispatch and Receipt (ID&R) program. Control Logic, along with Dearborn Mid-West was awarded this contract to design and build 131 units. Each ILS system receives mail from the dock, registers the weight/volume of mail, and then transmits the mail weight and accounting information directly to the USPS central Management Operations Data System (MODS) server through the USPS MPI network. The ILS system also has the capability to reject and/or not weigh mail based on the absence of a barcode or the ZIP/CIN number found within the barcode.

USPS North Metro P&DC
This Integrated Dispatch & Receipt tray mail system consists of standard belt conveyors, motorized roller conveyors, gravity skate wheel conveyors, spirals, diverters, merges, and roller tables required to interconnect these elements providing a fully functioning system. This material handling system also incorporated a new Process Control System consisting of a complete computer system utilizing a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Device Level Network (DLN) for control, monitoring and reports.

USPS San Francisco Air Mail Center
Bulk and tray mail systems consisting of 65 motor panels for belt conveyors, 5000 feet of tray mail motorized drive roller conveyors (MDR), 4 low cost tray sorters, 5 large PLCs, Ethernet & Device Control Networks (DCN) and 12 omni-directional front/rear scanning stations. Data interface was required with 2 Crisplant tilt-tray sorters. Integration included an automated video switching CCTV System and CPOCS compliant graphical user interface utilizing 12 Pentium class PCs running MS Windows 2000.

USPS Low Cost Tray Sorter
Control Logic, along with North American Conveyor, were pioneers in this program starting in 1998 to serve the United Stated Postal Service with a cost-effective tray sorting solution. Installation of the original 30 sorters was made in various USPS facilities (BMC, P&DC, IMF and AMC) throughout the west and Midwest from 1999 to 2001. LCTS was quickly recognized as an attractive concept and was transformed into a national deployment program where CLI became one of the four successful contractors for continued deployment of more enhanced and improved LCTS systems nationwide. A majority of these LCTS installations were customized to interface existing or new motorized drive roller tray mail conveyors that received mail from existing AAA, AFSM or Tray Management Systems.

USPS Los Angeles Bulk Mail Center
The facility expansion project included bulk and tray mail system components – 35 motor panels for belt conveyors, 50 container loader units, 3 container unloader units, 2 pallet unloader units, 2000 feet of tray mail motorized drive roller conveyors (MDR), 70 PLCs, 8 Optical Character Reading/Barcode scanning stations and 6 Video encoding stations. Data interface was required to a Crisplant tilt-tray sorter that served as 4 virtual sorting machines. Real-time data tracking was implemented for crossover parcels from two existing FMPCS primary sorters to a new universal sorter. 19 new Pentium class PCs running MS Windows 2000 were integrated with the existing Central Plant Operations Control Systems (CPOCS) system.
